2nd April 2020

ADUR ESTUARY: A Mute Swan, 33 Oystercatchers, 21 Turnstones, two Lesser Black-backed Gulls, a Kestrel and six Ringed Plovers (Bt/SOS).

DURRINGTON CEMETERY: Another stroll up to this cracking site, really has potential and not far at all from home. Gates now open at 8am so worth checking on if in the area. 2 entrances, 1 on Findon Road and 1 on Mill Road. Main highlight for me this morning was finding a vocal Marsh Tit, 4 Redwing were grounded, again fairly vocal and 5 Jays together. Green Woodpeckers showed well and 2 Roe Deer allowed fairly close approach. Only migrant of note was a singing Blackcap (NB).

LANCING COLLEGE: Four Stonechats and 10 Corn Buntings (Bt).

SALVINGTON: Just a single Buzzard over at mid-day (NB).

SHOREHAM: Four Wheatears on beach (Bt).

STEYNING: Two Cetti's Warblers (Bt).

WIDEWATER LAGOON: Little Egret and Redshank (Bt).
