EAST WORTHING: an hours seawatch from 10am: c40 Razorbills, nice Black-throated Diver past close in + 6 Red-throated Divers & probable distant Great-northern Diver. Melee of c250 gulls & 35+ Gannets feeding o/s. Shag on basket o/s again.
WIDEWATER: 1 Brent Goose on lagoon, Black Redstart east of beach chalets

ADUR ESTUARY: A White-fronted Goose and a single Brent Goose were in fields just north of Cuckoo Corner, occassionally getting on the river aswell
EAST WORTHING: Bit of a feeding frenzy going on off the coast at Ham road 20-30 Gannets have joined the gulls and a good number of Guillemots on the sea too.

GORING BEACH: Seawatch- 1 Black-throated Diver, 90 Red-throated Divers, 36 Great-crested Grebes, 14 Brent Geese, 45 Red-breasted Mergansers, 1 Razorbill, 1 Guillemot.

FERRING: From 0900 to 1000 I counted c.90
Red-throated Divers flying W (include two flocks of 15) plus five on sea. Also on sea c.30 Red-breasted Mergansers and a Shelduck.
Later on the beach were 3 Grey Plover, 20 Sanderling and 15 Oystercatchers.

GORING GAP: A Great-northern Diver flew west, 16 Red-throated Divers group of 13 west other 3 east to west, little else of note 3 Shelduck west, a few Red-breasted Mergansers, 4 Great-crested Grebes 2 ad Mediterranean Gull on field.
WIDEWATER: 8-9:20am 13 Red-throated Divers & 1 Black-throated Diver, 2 Great-crested Grebes, 11 Turnstones & an Oystercatcher.

Today marked a noticeable movement of Barnacle Geese offshore, below will record sightings at various locations but will no doubt be duplicate records as they were tracked along the coast. Most of the birds noted below were seen settled further west in Pagham Harbour.
GORING GAP: 55c Barnacle Geese west offshore, a further 15 were seen over Bluebird Cafe at 10.30 am and 18 over Sea Lane cafe 10.05 am
WIDEWATER: Total c155 Barnacle Geese past this morning in 3 flocks

ADUR ESTUARY: 9:35-10:35 Lapwing 96, Grey Plover,Great-black backed Gull 61, Skylark 9, Canada Goose 1 + white headed hybrid
WIDEWATER: 8:30-9:25 Red-throated Diver 13, auks just 7 with single Razorbill & Guillemot ID'd, 2 Gannets, Kittiwakes 14, Great-crested Grebe 5 & probable Slavonian Grebe (seen twice ascending troughs)

EAST WORTHING: Seawatch for 3 hours+ this morning. Started flat calm then SW picking up from 09:30h. Totals for morning (mostly W); Red-throated Divers (incl. groups of 8 and 10), 1 Black-throated Diver with 2 Red-throated Divers. 523 Auks (168 definitely Razorbills + 5 Guillemots), 61 Gannets, 4 Common Scoter (E), Brent Geese 15, Eider (f) 1 o/s. For 1.5h from 09:30h a steady passage of Kittiwakes (W) totalling 167 (+ more farther out), of these only 14 were imms.
GORING GAP: A Short-eared Owl gained a lot of height and headed south this morning
SHOREHAM HARBOUR: Guillemot in the harbour just north of Quay Court, Harbour Way
WIDEWATER: At least 60 Kittiwakes offshore this morning plus Red-throated Divers, auks, etc. No sign of Velvet Scoter.

ADUR ESTUARY: Big high tide from Adur saltings RSPB viewpoint: 2 Curlews, Greenshank, 48 Redshanks, 56 Teal, 9 Snipe, 4 Linnets, 3 Rock Pipits and 3 Reed Buntings.
SOUTHWICK CANAL: The Long-tailed Duck still remains in usual place
WIDEWATER: An hour seawatching very much as last few visits. 250 auks (80 Razorbills, 11 Guillemots ID’d), 46 Gannets, 25 Kittiwakes west, Red-throated Diver and Velvet Scoter on sea, latter very distant and only identifiable based on previous experience (basically same place/behaviour as last two days)

ANGMERING: No sign of the Goosander this morning at Patching Pond but presumably the same bird was at Decoy Pond
BROOKLANDS: A Red-throated Diver on the sea
MICHELGROVE: this morning 1 Raven, 4 Red Kites, 6 Buzzards and a Merlin.
WIDEWATER: The Velvet Scoter still distantly offshore. 30 Kittiwakes, 6 Common Scoter, 7 Eider W, 10+ Red-throated Divers W, Common Seal, Razorbills & Guillemots close in.

DURRINGTON: A Peregrene Falcon was on the south side of Skyline apartments near Durrington station.
SHOREHAM HARBOUR: 3 Purple Sandpipers reported today off the harbour
WIDEWATER: Velvet Scoter on the sea again today although distant

MARINE GARDENS: No sign of the Snow Bunting this morning but 2 Black-throated Divers W, 1 Brent Goose, 1 Mediterranean Gull, 2 Razorbills, 1 Great-crested Grebes, 10 Red-breasted Mergansers there.
SHOREHAM HARBOUR: 2 Purple Sandpipers still off the harbour entrance.
