ADUR ESTUARY: Three Knot from Town Quay early afternoon.
HIGHDOWN: Red Kite flew east. Nick Oliver
MARINE GARDENS: A brief look at the sea this evening was quite rewarding. Between 17:10 and 17:40 290 Brent Geese flew E (1,25,55,c200,20). This I’ve seen before at this time of year birds departing with a following wind and before some grim weather sets in. Loads of gulls but mainly coming onto the sea to roost rather than moving; otherwise just 4 Red-breasted Mergansers E, 3 Oystercatchers W and a couple of parties of waders heading up into the heavens going east. John Newnham
PATCHING: The YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER was still at the sewage works today and a 'Siberian Chiffchaff' was there too.
A Sand Martin was seen over Patching Pond early afternoon and the female Shoveler was still present. Also two Greylag and Canada Geese, a Moorhen, a Mallard and a Coot. George Kinnard/Gareth James
WIDEWATER LAGOON: BLACK REDSTART on beach.
