ADUR ESTUARY: I dipped in and out of the RSPB reserve this morning, combining my observations with some survey work nearby. But over the course of a couple of hours I recorded: 12 Oystercatchers, four Grey Herons, a Great Black-backed Gull, eight Starlings, 30 Redshank, a Greenshank, 20 Turnstones, a Magpie, two Mute Swans, a Curlew, 22 Teal, a Kingfisher and a Grey Wagtail was on Coronation Green. FERRING RIFE: The beach by the Bluebird Cafe had 15 Grey Plovers, 11 Oystercatchers, a Sanderling, a Ringed Plover and three adult Mediterranean Gulls. The highlights along the Rife itself were a mobile Brambling, five Siskins, two redpolls, a Redwing, three Mistle Thrushes, a Little Egret, a Sparrowhawk and 11 Moorhens. David Campbell

MILL HILL: Three Chiffchaffs.

SALVINGTON: A group of over 50 Goldinches in my garden today attracted the attention of a male Sparrowhawk which posed briefly after a failed catch. A Grey Wagtail was still around and a Brambling flew over calling, seems to be a few around this winter. Nick Bond

SHOREHAM FORT: On a falling tide this afternoon there was a Purple Sandpiper and an estimated 30 Turnstones, the latter widely spread out along both harbour arms, although there was a tight little group of five just below the car park. A Black Redstart was active along the rock sea defences, and four Greenfinches and a Pied Wagtail along the fence line nearby. About five Common Gulls with other gull species following a dredging vessel as it entered the harbour. Steve Gilbert via SOS Also two Rock Pipits. Shemi via SOS
