ADUR ESTUARY: 5-6 Oystercatchers, a Sandwich Tern near the Toll Bridge and several Swifts moving overhead. 13 Little Egrets also on the Adur

CISSBURY RING: A QUAIL could be heard singing early morning from the fields to the north of the ring, quality also continued with a female/1st year GOLDEN ORIOLE seen and called several times before appearing slip off east, map below highlights the area the Oriole was seen



LADYWELL: Highlights during a morning ringing session included 10 Reed Warblers caught in which 8 were re-traps and 2 new birds, a Jackdaw was also processed. Nearby a Lesser Whitethroat was heard and a Brown Hare was a rare visitor to the site

MILL HILL: Lesser and 9 Common Whitethroats, Chiffchaff, Cetti’s Warbler (heard), Yellowhammer, Mistle Thrush, Greater-spotted Woodpecker and 1 Swift.

SOMPTING: A Hobby moved low overhead, also a Peregrine Falcon and several Swifts. Also 40+ Swifts were observed moving westwards early morning
