MARINE GARDENS: Walking through Marine Gardens produced three RedwingsSparrowhawk, a Grey Wagtail, two Goldcrests and a Coal Tit. I then seawatched from the shelter, seeing two Common Scoters, six Red-breasted Mergansers, five Great Crested Grebes, a Ringed Plover, 18 Razorbills, 326 distant auks, eight Kittiwakes, three Mediterranean Gulls, eight Red-throated Divers and 73 Gannets. RIVER ADUR: GOOSANDER flew south past cement works.

SALVINGTON: Male Blackcap again in garden on Rogate Road, male Sparrowhawk also visited feeding station briefly. Nick Bond

SHOREHAM: A bike ride via the Ferry Bridge and the Fort this afternoon yielded one Curlew, one Oystercatcher and six Ringed Plovers on the Adur viewed from the bridge, along with a Little Egret, two Grey Herons and two Mute Swans. Fairly quiet at the Fort, with a few Turnstones on the beach and about 15 Common Gulls patrolling just offshore. A Black Redstart in female-type plumage in the yacht club compound.
