GORING GAP: A brief look around lunchtime produced six Stonechats and a Whinchat in the potato field. A Chiffchaff in the plantation and three Swallows passed through heading south. Gareth James.
WIDEWATER LAGOON: Today at 9am there was amazing juvenile DARTFORD WARBLER at Widewater Lagoon. My first ever!!! I spent around 10 min following him west along the cycling path. Then disappeared in the thick shrub at west end of the lagoon. Also lots of passing Meadow Pipits, Swallows, House Martins, some Linnets, Skylarks, flock of 20 Siskins and a Stonechat and Wheatear on the beach plus three Little Grebe on the water. At Shoreham Kingfisher, Greenshank, Bar-tailed Godwit, Curlew and 40 Lapwings. Shemi via SOS. No sign of the DARTFORD WARBLER early evening although Kingfisher, Little Egret and four Mute Swans on Eastern Lagoon. Gareth James.
