STEEP DOWNA Spotted Flycatcher and female Common Redstart enlivened my usual stroll around Steep Down this morning. Plenty of Skylarks singing, several territorial Corn Buntings and probably 20 Whitethroats churring and displaying on my route. A single Sand Martin was my first this year.  Rather too cool and windy for butterflies but at least two Wall Browns were seen.(JN)
