ADUR ESTUARY: A Lesser Black-backed Gull, a Little Egret, a Sparrowhawk, two Redshanks, two Oystercatchers and 100 Common Gulls (Bt).

BROOKLANDS PARK (beach): Sandwich Tern, Swallow, 23 Common Scoters, 15 Ringed Plovers and 'some' Great Crested Grebes (SOS).

THE DOWNS (SW of Steyning): Two Red-legged Partridges, two Lapwings, 26 Skylarks, two Mistle Thrushes, a Stonechat, 24 Corn Buntings and four Yellowhammers (Bt).

FERRING RIFE: Four Red-breasted Mergansers and a Great Crested Grebe offshore (Bt).

GORING: Swallow and Red Kite flew over garden, and an additional Red Kite over another garden (SOS).

UPPER BEEDING (borders of our area): MERLIN over River Adur nearby, and Cetti's Warbler there (SOS).

WEST WORTHING: There was quite a movement of Siskins over the garden this morning, with around 30 heading east. Later, the Peregrines were back overhead together, slowly cruising their home range; I'm curious where they're breeding. A Cormorant, a Rook and five Jackdaws flew east, and either the Blackcap was back or another briefly burst into song. On a roof opposite, a Stock Dove was unusual, and the female Sparrowhawk passed by a couple of times (DKC).
